5/24/2026 Arson Arrest
On May 24, 2026 at 8:42 am, David W Goldsmith, (61), of Hinsdale, was arrested following an investigation for a report of smoke and multiple fires being set at a residence in Hinsdale. The home owner, Mr. Goldsmith, was taken into custody on scene and transported to the Olean Substation for arrest processing. He was charged with Arson in the Fourth Degree and three counts of Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree, then released with an appearance ticket. Arraignment to be held at a later date in the Town of Hinsdale. No injuries were reported as a result of the fires.
5/22/2026 Menacing/Harassment Arrest
On May 22, 2026, Sarah M Oxley, 59, of Little Valley, was taken into custody after an investigation of Menacing. Oxley is charged with Menacing and Harassment in the Second Degree. Oxley was processed without incident and arraigned in the Town of Little Valley. Oxley was remanded to the jail on bail bond set at $500 cash. Oxley was transported to the jail without incident.
5/23/2026
On May 23, 2026 at 9:30 pm, Dempsey Z. Rogers, 32, of Bradford, PA was taken into custody by deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Seneca Nation Allegany Territory. Rogers was the subject of a traffic stop on Route 417 in the Town of Carrollton for a vehicle and traffic infraction. Following an investigation, Rogers was found to have an active warrant issued out of Alfred Police Department. Rogers was taken into custody and then turned over to Alfred Police Department for further proceedings.

On May 24, 2026 at 7:54 pm, Neal F. Paramenter was arrested for Criminal Trespass in the second degree, stemming from an incident that occurred in the Village of Little Valley. Neal was arraigned in the Town of Little Valley Court and released on his own recognizance. Neal is due back in court on a later date.
5/25/2026
On May 25, 2026 at 11:15 am, Joshua J. Mosher, 43, of Olean, NY was arrested following a complaint at Walmart. It was found that Mosher had entered the store twice in one day after being banned from the property back in 2025. Mosher was charged with two counts of Criminal Trespass in the Third Degree and was released on an appearance ticket. Mosher is scheduled to be arraigned in court on a later date.
5/26/2026
On May 26, 2026 at 9:42 am, Bradlee J. Smith (44) of Gowanda, NY, was arrested for Forgery 3rd following a complaint in the Town of Otto. Smith was released with an appearance ticket for the Town of Otto Court at a later date.
5/27/2026 Drug/Warrant Arrest
On May 27, 2026 at 4:56 pm, Kayla M. Greene, 21, of Napoli NY, was taken into custody by deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Seneca Nation Allegany Territory. Greene was observed walking on Washington St. in the City of Salamanca and was found to have an active bench warrant for her arrest out of the City of Olean from a prior drug arrest. Greene was found to be in possession of a quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine. Greene was transported to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office for processing. Greene was processed and issued an appearance ticket for the following charge: Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree for return to the City of Salamanca. Greene was then transported to the Cattaraugus County Jail where she was held pending further proceedings.
5/26/2026 Failure to Mail Annual Sex Offender Registry Verification
On May 26, 2026 at 10:03 pm, after an investigation performed by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau, an arrest has been made for 1 count of Failure to Mail in Annual Sex Offender Registry Verification. Adam J. Robinson was reported to have failed to mail in his annual sex offender registry verification that was sent to him on 2/26/2026. He was sent directly to CCSO Jail and is scheduled to appear in Cattaraugus County Court at a later date and time.
5/25/2026 Menacing/Endangering the Welfare Arrest
On May 25, 2026 at 3:09 pm, Jomar E. Alvarado, 21, of Wixhom, Michigan, was arrested following a complaint of Alvarado threatening the lives of three individuals with a knife while one was holding a young child. Alvarado was charged with three counts of Menacing in the Third Degree and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Alvarado was arraigned and was released on his own recognizance. Alvarado is scheduled to return to court on a later date.
5/21/2026 Failure to Register as a Sex Offender Arrest
On May 21, 2026 at 10:07 am, after an investigation performed by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau, an arrest has been made for 1 count of Failure to register within 10 days/address. Luke D. Westfall was found to be living at 1542 Olean-Portville Rd. in the Town of Olean for a period of more than 10 days. He was sent directly to CCSO Jail and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Olean Court at a later date and time.
5/24/2026 MVA/DWI Arrest
On May 24, 2026 at 5:12 am, Jesse E. Bomberry, 19, of Silver Creek, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated by Deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Seneca Nation Allegany Territory. The charges stem from a one car motor vehicle accident in the town of Cold Spring. Jesse was processed and released with an appearance ticket, due back in court at a later date.
5/29/2026 Assault Arrest
The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Alexander Ariel Vasquez-Perez, age 29 of New Jersey. On May 29, 2026 at approximately 04:26 am, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to 159 Aldrich Street in the Village of Gowanda for a report of an individual being stabbed with a knife. As a result of the investigation completed by the Criminal Investigation Bureau, Ariel Vasquez-Perez was charged with assault in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. Ariel Vasquez-Perez was arraigned in the Town of Persia Court where he was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail. The victim of the stabbing was transported by Gowanda Ambulance Service to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Gowanda Ambulance Service and the New York State Police.
5/28/2026 Blotter
On May 28, 2026 at 4:10 pm, Ricky L. Armstrong Jr., 46, of Wellsville, NY, was taken into custody after being located walking on Main St. in the City of Salamanca. Armstrong Jr. had an active bench warrant out of Olean City Court. Armstrong Jr. was transported to the Olean Police Department where he was processed and arraigned in Olean City Court. Armstrong Jr. was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail, where he will be held, awaiting further court proceedings.
