George Robert “Mac” GRANT, 83, of Ulysses, PA

George Robert “Mac” GRANT, 83, of Ulysses, PA, died Monday, August 3, 2026 in Wellsboro, PA.  Born October 13, 1942, in Hume, NY, he was the son of George Dewey and Geneva Agatha Shearer Grant.  On August 13,1966, in Pittsburgh, he married Evelyn “Lynn” Perkins, who predeceased him on December 25, 2023.  

A 1960 graduate of Galeton Area High School, he earned a bachelor’s degree in English education from Lock Haven State College and a master’s degree in school counseling from Alfred University.  He earned his administrative certificate from St. Bonaventure University.  He taught English at Northern Potter High School and served as guidance counselor, athletic director, and principal at Galeton Area High School.  

In retirement, he was employed as secretary by the Coudersport Consistory.  He was a longtime District 4 PIAA representative.  A 33rd degree Mason, he was a member of Galeton Masonic Lodge and successor Lewisville Lodge #556 in Ulysses, and Coudersport Consistory.  An avid golfer, he was a member of River Valley Country Club.  

Surviving are: five children, Douglas Grant of Sunderlinville, Jana (Joel) Snyder of Richfield, Daniel (Kristina) Grant of Gaines, David Grant of Ulysses, and Jill (Tom) Campbell of Wellsboro; eight grandchildren, Matthew Grant, Paige Grant, Kamryn Campbell, Hayes Campbell, Lillian Grant, Ella Snyder, Alivia Grant, and Lydia Grant; a sister, Mary Boardman of Coudersport; nieces and nephews.  

Friends may call Friday, August 21, 2026 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Crematory, Ulysses, PA and on Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, with a Masonic Service at 12:00 PM.  A private memorial service will be held for family and close friends.  Pastor Fred Garrison will officiate.
