Micah Emerick was awarded a Hagan Scholarship to attend Rochester Institute of Technology for Electrical Engineering. The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship designed to help students graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to eight consecutive semesters and provides recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum via free Workshops, Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and Study Abroad. Hagan Scholars have attended 745 colleges and universities located in 50 states and the District of Columbia and have studied abroad in 64 countries.

This is a summary of what a Hagan winner is provided:

$2,000 to buy school supplies

Up to $60,000 in scholarship money over the course of four years

$8,000 toward a study abroad experience

Students are taught to manage funds in a Schwab Brokerage Account. Students get to keep up to $10,000 of gains they make during their time in college.
