Two arrests made in underage drinking initiative
On April 21, 2026, the New York State Police conducted an Underage Drinking Initiative in Allegany County. During these investigations, businesses are checked utilizing a Trooper in plain clothes and one or more underage operatives who cannot lie about their age or provide a false date of birth.
As a result of the initiative, The Store, 3983 Main St. in Scio and JSR Gift and Smoke Shop, 6292 St Rt 21 in Alfred, both found to be out of compliance. Safal Pandy, 24, of Scio was charged with Prohibited Sale of Alcoholic Beverage and Myra J. Ludden, 49, of Almond was charged with unlawfully dealing with a child 2nd degree.

• Walgreens, 10 N Main St., Wellsville, NY 14895
• Steve’s Gas and Grub Hub., Andover, NY 14806
• SOS Liquor & Wine, 43 N Main St., Alfred, NY 14802
