Winifred M. DURPHY, 93, of Eldred, PA

Winifred M. DURPHY, 93, of Eldred, PA, died Sunday, October 25, 2026, in Sena Kean Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Smethport.  Born March 27, 1933, in Eldred, she was the daughter Ernest and Maggie Chambers Copeland.  

She was a graduate of Otto-Eldred High School.  On June 21, 1955, in the First Methodist Church in Olean, NY, she married Kendrick L. Durphy, who predeceased her on September 11, 2020.  She and Ken resided on their farm on Sun Valley Road since 1965.  She was a helpmate to her husband, who served as an evangelistic minister and pastored churches in Port Allegany and Mississippi.  

In 1992, Ken, Winnie and family founded and built the Maranatha Christian Training Center in Sun Valley, where they aided people in need of housing and spiritual guidance.  She was a member of Olean Revival Center, Olean, NY.  

Surviving are: three sons, Rev. Ernest (Darlene) Durphy of Starke, FL, Terry (Donna) Durphy and Thomas (Janice) Durphy, both of Norwich Township; a daughter, Deborah (Richard) Woods of Eldred; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Manley Copeland and Francis Copeland.

Friends may call Friday, October 30, 2026, at Olean Revival Center, 146 N. 13th Street, Olean, NY 14760 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, with Funeral Services following at 11:00 AM.  Rev. David L. Eastman will officiate.  Burial will be in Annin Creek Cemetery.
