2nd Alarm Fire At UPMC Lock Haven Hospital

Fire and EMS crews from several stations responded to a reported structure fire around 7:40 PM at the UPMC Lock Haven Outpatient Emergency Department located at 24 Cree Drive.


Early reports indicated that black smoke was coming from the roof of the building as fire personnel started arriving on scene.  A second alarm was quickly issued.  Fire crews units from Beech Creek-Blanchard Volunteer Fire Company, Castanea Fire Company Station 3, Citizens Hose Company of Jersey Shore, Dunnstown Fire Company, Goodwill Hose Company, Station 7, Goodwill Hose Company Ambulance Association, Independent Hose Company No. 1, Jersey Shore Area EMS, Lock Haven Emergency Medical Services, Nittany Valley Volunteer Company, Inc., and Renovo Fire Department.


Citizens Hose Company No. 5 fire personnel arrived on scene and reported that heavy smoke was showing from an upper-floor vent. An engine crew was deployed to the fourth floor, where they located the fire in an electrical room.   A squad crew would complete the search of the fourth floor while the engine crew conducted the fire attack using an extinguisher.
