Bradford Police Respond to Disturbing Incident Involving Unwanted Male at South Center Street

On May 7, 2026, City of Bradford Police officers responded to a call at 25 South Center Street regarding an unwanted male within the residence. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the individual, identified as 37-year-old Jacob Michael Kamats. After speaking with Kamats, officers conducted a formal interview with the victim, who reported an incident earlier that day at the same location. According to the victim, Kamats threatened them multiple times, leading to an argument. The victim, fearing for their safety, locked themselves in the bathroom. While the victim was barricaded, Kamats attempted to kick down the door multiple times, making threats, including "I'll kill you all." Yesterday, Kamats was subsequently arrested by Troopers with the PA State Police Troop C, Lewis Run, at a residence in Smethport. He was arraigned by Judge Engman and remanded to McKean County Jail on $50,000 bail.
All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
