Ernest R. DUNN, 63, of Belmont, NY

Ernest R. DUNN, 63, of Belmont, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 15, 2026, in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville.  Born September 11, 1963, in Cuba, he was the son of John R. and Betty Jane Irish Dunn. 

A 1983 graduate of Friendship High School, he served with the Army National Guard from 1983 – 1984.  He was employed by Mackler Industries, Friendship Foundry, and Friendship Dairies.  Ernest was a member of the Belmont American Legion.  

Surviving are: two brothers, John L. (Donna) Dunn and Edward C. Dunn, both of Friendship; three sisters, Wilma A. Simons, Sharon L. (Rex) Gross, and Brenda L. (Lucas) Washington, all of Friendship; nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Nic Sansone.  

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, William G. Simons; a niece, Krysta Grace Kane; and a nephew, Jason Simons. 

Services will be private.  

Memorials may be made to Belmont American Legion Post #808.
