Mother and Child Fatalities in ATV Rollover

On August 6, 2026, at 2:30 P.M., Troopers out of SP Amity responded to an ATV rollover with possible fatalities on Niles Hill Road in the town of Wellsville.
Investigation determined a 2003 Polaris Trail Boss 4wheeler operated by Ashley R. Robichaud, 38 of Wellsville, NY with her two children, 6 and 3-year-old were traveling the fence line in the pasture. When the Polaris was at the lowest point of elevation in the pasture it overturned pinning Ashley and the 6-year-old, Emersyn E. Robichaud underneath the Polaris. Ashley and Emersyn were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The 3-year-old was transported by Mercy Flight to Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester for non-life-threatening injuries.
NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted in this investigation.
