Robert C. SHELLEY, Sr., 86, of Port Allegany, PA, died Friday, November 28, 2025 in Sena-Kean, Smethport, PA.
A gathering to celebrate Bob’s life will be held Sunday, June 14, 2026 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the Veterans Memorial, Inc., 4743 PA-155, Port Allegany, PA. A luncheon will be served.
Military Rites will be accorded by the Port Allegany Honor Guard. Born November 26, 1939, in Port Allegany, he was the son of Max R. and Ruth Carl Shelley.
On May 1, 1959, in Elizabeth City, NC, he married Julia Jones, who predeceased him on May 2, 2005.
A U.S. Navy Veteran, he served honorably from 1957 – 1960. He was employed as a supervisor by Port Allegany Borough. Bob was a member of the Canoe Place Fish and Game Club and was active in local bowling leagues. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed farming and riding his Harley Davidson. Bob cherished time with his family. He especially enjoyed dancing at the weddings of his grandchildren.
Surviving are: two sons, Robert C. (Diane) Shelley, Jr. and Joseph M. (Amy) Shelley, both of Port Allegany; six grandchildren, Joshua (Nicki) Shelley, Nate (Tiffany) Shelley, Samantha (Stephen) Weidner, Jennifer (Derek) Matheson, Christie Homell, and Wayne (Linda) Homell; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, John Kephart of New Middletown, OH; two sisters, Jane (Joseph) Kaziska of Port Allegany and Sue Kephart Carpenter of Norfolk, VA; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Ralph Peasley; and a sister, Carol Galford.
Burial will be in Shelley Family Cemetery, Port Allegany. Memorials may be made to Port Area Ambulance Service.
