United Way of the Bradford Area, Inc. Launches "814 Day of Action" to Inspire Community Service

The United Way of the Bradford Area, Inc. is excited to launch the inaugural 814 Day of Action, a community-wide volunteer event taking place on August 14 that will bring together businesses, organizations, civic groups, and volunteers to complete meaningful service projects throughout the community.

Inspired by the 814 area code that connects our region, the 814 Day of Action is designed to unite people around projects that enhance public spaces, strengthen nonprofit organizations, and improve community resources. Rather than addressing individual needs, the event will focus on community service projects that create lasting

benefits for the broader community.

The United Way is currently seeking project hosts interested in organizing volunteer opportunities. Potential projects may include painting community spaces, landscaping and beautification efforts, park improvements, playground maintenance, trail cleanups, nonprofit organization support projects, supply sorting and organization, facility improvements, community garden projects, and other hands-on volunteer activities.

Local businesses, civic organizations, churches, schools, community groups, and individuals are encouraged to participate by forming volunteer teams, sponsoring projects, or just simply signing up to help. We also encourage locations to host internal community projects, such as collection drives, if they are unable to participate in the Day of Action but still want to give back. The United Way is also seeking financial

sponsors and donations of materials and supplies to help offset project costs and maximize the impact of volunteer efforts throughout the day.

"Whether you're hosting a project, volunteering with a team, sponsoring supplies, or donating materials, everyone can play a role in creating positive change."
