WEATHER UPDATE – FLASH FLOOD WARNING

  • 6 days ago
  • 1 min read

The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Northwestern Tioga County, including the Knoxville area, until 9:30 PM.

The warning is primarily due to heavy rainfall that may cause rapid flooding of small creeks, streams, low-lying areas, poor drainage locations, and flooded roadways.

At this time, there are no reports of significant flooding within our immediate response area.

Out of an abundance of caution, members of the Knoxville-Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department have assembled at the station and are actively monitoring weather conditions and radar. This is a proactive, precautionary measure to ensure we're prepared should conditions change.

 Please remember:

* Never drive through flooded roadways.

* Turn around, don't drown.

* Use extra caution near creeks, streams, and other low-lying areas.

* Stay alert for changing weather conditions this evening.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates if conditions change.

Stay safe, stay weather aware, and thank you for your continued support of the Knoxville-Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department.
