Kane VFW Post 1132 Day Of Service

On May 16, 2026, VFW Post 1132 successfully completed its Day of Service through participation in the Adopt-A-Highway program. Members of the Post and Auxiliary volunteered their time to clean both sides of approximately 1.2 miles of highway within our community.

A total of 15 volunteers participated in the project, including 7 VFW Post members and 8 VFW Auxiliary members. Volunteers dedicated approximately 3 hours to the cleanup effort.

During the event, approximately 70 bags of trash and debris were collected and properly disposed of, helping improve the appearance and safety of our local roadway while demonstrating continued commitment to community service.

The Post donated approximately $667 to facilitate this volunteer activity, including supplies, safety equipment, and related operational costs.

This project reflects the ongoing commitment of Veterans of Foreign Wars members and Auxiliary members to serving veterans, strengthening communities, and promoting civic pride through hands-on volunteerism.
