Longtime Port Allegany Elementary Teacher Promoted to High School Principal

Congratulations Mrs. Barber!


Last evening the Port Allegany School Board of Directors unanimously voted to appoint Mrs. Toncha Barber as the new Acting High School Principal effective May 1, 2026. Mrs. Barber has been the elementary STEM Lab teacher for the past several years. She has championed instructional practices rooted in computational thinking, collaboration, and complex problem-solving, working to prepare our students for an ever-changing landscape. She also arrives with a deep understanding of, and appreciation for, a small but mighty school district like Port Allegany.
