Coveted Elephant Relay Title Stays Home
This past Tuesday, April 14, the Port Allegany boys track team competed against Cameron County. Members of the throwing events competed in and defended their traditional 4x400 Elephant Relay title against Cameron County’s throwers. NoPo Literally Walks Off Otto-Eldred; Port Allegany Edges Cameron Co.; Clarion Beats Brockway; Brookville Wins – D9 Baseball Recaps
Four walks and a hit batter to the final five batters of the game helped Northern Potter walk off Otto-Eldred, 11-10. The final free pass, to Brandon Furman, scored Conhar Snyder from third with the winning run. Snyder drew the second walk of the sequence, right after Austin Burdick was out at the plate trying to score on a wild pitch. IU9 Elementary Songfest was held at Northern Potter High School on April 10th.
Participating Cameron County students were Emma Costanzo, Reagan Cousin, Kameron Jackson, Deveric Neyman, and Scarlett Scheller. Otto-Eldred /OV 17- Cameron County 2 The Lady Terrors (1-1) played just their second game of the season and came up with the victory. Sophmore Baylee Francis earned her first win on the mound striking out 10 while allowing 2 runs cross. Putting up seven runs in each of the first two innings, visiting Otto-Eldred toppled Cameron County, 17-2, in four innings. The Woodland Elementary Citizen of the Month for April is Gunnar Grovanz.

Oswayo Valley falls in opening contests
The Oswayo Valley baseball team started the year 1-2 with loses to Cowanesque Valley and Cameron County. The Green Wave started the season on the road in Cowanesque Valley and suffered a 7-1 defeat to the defending District IV champs. The Indians got on the board early with four runs in the first inning before knocking in another two in the second. Cameron Co., Cranberry, Cville, Corry Baseball Win in Final AB; Mercer Gets Great Pitching; Redbank Mercy Rules Clarion
Jacob Kolby’s two-out walk-off single in the ninth scored Braxtyn Neyman, giving Cameron County a 10-9 win over Bucktail. Gage Trumpie and Neyman had started the inning with back-to-back singles, Neyman’s coming when he tried to bunt Trumpie to second. On Friday, 8 CCHS seniors participated in the annual Environmental Quiz Bowl at the Elk Country Visitor Center in Benezette. Topics included PA Wildlife, PA Elk, Survival Skills and Wild Edibles.
