This past Tuesday, April 14, the Port Allegany boys track team competed against Cameron County. Members of the throwing events competed in and defended their traditional 4x400 Elephant Relay title against Cameron County’s throwers. This tradition dates back decades between Port Allegany and Cameron County and has long been a source of pride for both schools’ throwing programs. Four walks and a hit batter to the final five batters of the game helped Northern Potter walk off Otto-Eldred, 11-10. The final free pass, to Brandon Furman, scored Conhar Snyder from third with the winning run. Snyder drew the second walk of the sequence, right after Austin Burdick was out at the plate trying to score on a wild pitch.
